CIITEC performed a total redesign of trunk for added space with a gain in range included new Genesis XE-95 pure lead AGM units, and reduction to one battery box instead of two, plus moving charging off board to obtain faster recharge...

  • TRUNK... A cleaner space

Previous -2 box and onboard charger arrangement, for the 45 mile range...

...Present clean space, with only 18% of trunk used for pack, avoiding structural changes.

The challenge of cost cutting performance...

Cutting a new car chassis to acommodate a higher capacity battery pack is not an easy option, when a vehicle is shifting paradigms for such an street savvy customer as a cab owner. So the need for a faster charging time combined with AGMs ability to be positioned in almost any orientation resulted in a clean trunk space with very easy access to the battery pack and elegant Burndy® braid connectors.

Final layout done without any cutting or welding woo the would be buyers, because aside from the recovered trunk space, the electric taxi retained spare tire functionality, carpeting and OEM appearance.

The aluminum trunk box became a chassis stiffening member, due to its 6 point anchoring to car structural elements. Access to the batteries is a snap with the clear panneled lid that is fastened to the retainer bar that keeps the Genesis XE-95, from moving. A simple and elegant solution for servicing and plain monitoring of pack.
