....e-COATL Pics 2

The car debut was a disaster at Bill Young's University of Central Florida, Cocoa Campus event. Alloy wheels never fitted and ruin front rotors, while battery weight make original reinforced suspension a joke. Lesson.

  • UCF... Sun Day Challenge

Front wheels wobbled, suspension sagged, autocross to cry a river over...

Brake rotors destroyed at Cocoa event.

...On a rainy night, car, with first motor burned, arrives in Tampa for overhaul.

Total failure at the Florida Solar Energy Center ...

The Solar Day Challenge is a yearly event that takes place at the Cocoa Campus of the University of Central Florida. It seemed a good start to begin testing the car... What a dismal experience. Towed from Fort Pierce car arrived with new front wheels and tires, that not only ruin the rotors but make the car unstable. EAE took delivery of the car on Sunday afternnon, just to run to a shop to change the whole front brake setup and tow it to Tampa under steady rain.

Then, car was moved two miles on its own to Drew Park and very silently, burned the first 'Warp'. One internal DC to DC in the Zilla, just went to sleep... So the thrill was really, really gone....

Well, with no motor, car went into aesthetics full time, enter Robert Murphree and his Sunbrite Autoworks company. Robert suggested a gray cloth with embroidered logos and green piping for the interior, and a deep black with pearlescent green for the outside paint.
